The Dream Says There’s No Need to Marry His Girlfriend Since He’s Already Smashing

The Dream might be one of the best producers in the game right now, but he’s also one of the most outspoken as well. You can always count on The Dream to say exactly what’s on his mind, and he will deliver that same rawness into every piece of music he writes and creates. Although he’s struck gold in music, his personal life and past relationships with women hasn’t been so lucky. The producer has divorced two times (Nivea and Christina Milian) and his last very public split from Milian was nothing but drama. Eventually things got so bad between the both of them that he ended up slamming her on Twitter and accusing her of sleeping around for tracks. He later told his fans he was going to learn how to stop airing his dirty laundry out on Twitter, but he’s still very opinionated when it comes to his interviews.

The Dream has since moved on from Christina Milian and now he’s in another committed relationship. Although his new woman’s reputation has already been questioned, he tells Sister 2 Sister Magazine that he’s not thinking about marriage not because of what people say about his new girl, but more so because he feels it’s pointless. According to The Dream, although he would eventually get married again and likes the idea of marriage, he feels there’s no need to marry her at this point since he’s already smashing and getting the same perks:

“…I like the idea of it. I have this book I’m writing about how, as blessed as I am, how I could have a girlfriend; I could have kids with her, chill out and that’s my girl. We woo-woo-woo, whatever it is, and get all of the same things that you get when you’re married to someone. It probably didn’t work years go, but why get married? What do they say? ‘Get the milk without the cow.'”

Interestingly enough, he does go on to say he feels people change for the worst when they get married and just don’t have the dedication needed to make it work most of the time:

“But that word “marriage” changes who you are. Immediately you’re not that forgiving and it’s just like, “We fought all the time when we were boyfriend and girlfriend and we never broke up.” You have a good fight when you’re married and it’s like, ‘I’m out of here. Peace!’ It’s like it gets more fragile when it’s supposed to be stronger.”

  1. Oh whatever. She’s just after his money anyway. He’ll marry her like the dummy he is sooner or later.

  2. Another rich simpleton that wouldn’t pull any females if he didn’t have millions in his bank account.

  3. First off I have never liked the dream because I find it funny it he can writes hits for everyone but couldn’t write a hit for his then wife Nivea. Anyways his comments are stupid. Just stick to cranking out the hits and keep your mouth shut.

  4. Oh Lawd…The Dream and his messed up views on love and relationships just never gets old.

  5. I honestly feel like if a woman is giving a man “husband” benefits, they will be very slow to actually marry her. It’s messed up but they don’t think like us. So I get what he’s saying.

    1. i’ve given my man the “husband benefits” left moms house moved in we both worked treated him like a king cook clean, perfect my craft 😉 he asked me to marry him and i evenhad him wait, now we married and having our first kid together (4 years deep). It depends on the guy, there are always warning signs and the good has to outweigh the bad. Oh and he’s not black Lol

  6. This guy has been divorced what two times? Nothing he says about marriage should be taken seriously.

  7. Uhh okay. How can you say marriage is pointless, and then say in the next breath you still want to get married? Maybe that explains why he couldn’t stay married. He likes the IDEA of it but doesn’t really want to do the work because he doesn’t really see the value in it.

  8. He was right when he said people are more committed when they are just dating versus when they are actually married. Strange but true.

  9. He told the truth. Women get so offended when men tell the truth and it forces them to look at themselves and their lifestyles. If you are treating a man like your husband before he actually is, we won’t be motivated to marry you. What’s the point?

    1. NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! It’s the man’s fault. Didn’t you get the memo? What is wrong with you man?

      1. he sounds bitter. i treated my man like a husband and king, he treated me like a queen > two years he proposed. we married n happy. blk men are so bitter and their minds easily manipulated by other dumb blk men acting hard and treating women like trash. takes a real man to find a real lady and wife her. ignore the boys.
