Is Someone Trying to Destroy Kerry Washington?

Kerry Washington is enjoying lots of success thanks to “Scandal,” her hit drama on ABC. As many of the show’s loyal fans are awaiting anxiously for the show’s return in October, Kerry continues to nab covers to the top magazines and secure roles in movies. The actress even managed to get nominated for her very first Emmy Award thanks to her starring role on “Scandal,” but her personal life seems to be taking off just as fast as her career. As we recently reported, Kerry secretly married her also very secret beau Nnamdi Asomugha back in June, and to no surprise, most were shocked to learn the news. We’re sure the shock was primarily due to the fact that most had no idea Kerry was even dating the NFL player, and she actually kept her new marriage a secret for a month before her reps confirmed the union to the press.

Interestingly enough, there’s a nasty rumor going on about Kerry claiming she’s not really married and that the actress is allegedly faking her marriage for publicity reasons. Sports blogger Terez Owens got a rather interesting email by a source who claims to be in Kerry’s camp and they wrote the following to the blogger:

“I was paid by Kerry Washington and her camp to insert a marriage certificate in the Idaho court system. I did it for them, but she’s been tripping lately and it’s really pissing me off, so this is my pay back to the b*tch! I did it, Nnamdi didn’t want to do it, but Kerry convinced him to go thru with it. See how Nnamdi hasn’t said anything or isn’t even wearing a wedding ring… well the dude is playing it safe. He was paid some money to agree to it, Nnamdi and Kerry are still dating, but they are not married. Kerry’s camp also asked me to purge Nnamdi’s ex-girlfriend’s profile online and delete any link that said her and Nnamdi ever dated. So i did. Anyway, Kerry Washington is a sick b*tch who will do anything for fame. I inserted the marriage certificate for the Vanity Fair magazine. It was all promo BS. Now she wants to come up with some sh*t to promote SCANDAL in October.”

The source is making a very bold accusation, and from what we’ve heard someone has been making up stories like this and sending them to multiple blogs hoping some would take the bait. And that checks out considering these “tips” have been on the internet just hours after the marriage was confirmed (since July). Lainey Gossip who is notorious for having multiple Hollywood connections says she is sent ridiculous tips such as these on a regular basis by “Scandal” fans who are so obsessed with the relationship between Olivia and Fitz that they want it to happen in real life. Apparently these people could be planting these type of rumors, as well as someone else who is personally not happy with Kerry’s new union. Some even think it’s one of her hubby’s exes. And we’ve seen many of these stories on Tumblr as well and they don’t even look legit.

Besides, it’s pretty hard to “insert” a fake marriage certificate into a court system. I got married in a court and they don’t play around with the records. It took us a while to even get to the ceremony because they were tedious in making sure me and my husband’s information checked out first. So it’s hard to believe anyone can just send a fake certificate to a court system. Someone is out for blood and Kerry’s lawyers should probably get on the job. But this tip looks completely false and multiple media entities have already confirmed from the court that Kerry is indeed a married woman. So we have to wonder, just who is trying so hard to slander Kerry?
