Looks like another major retailer has decided to send a message to Beyonce amid Target’s controversial choice to not sell Beyonce’s latest album in its stores (ironically Target stores outside of the US are selling the album). Yesterday, Billboard learned that Amazon will not be selling the physical copies of the album and will only sell the MP3 version instead. Customers can still buy the CD on the site through third-party sellers though. Considering Beyonce is on pace to sell around 300,000 copies in her second week, it appears the BeyHive is determined to find a way to keep supporting their fave despite the shortcomings.

Bey may have lost another retailer, but Starbucks shocked everyone and confirmed they will be selling Beyonce’s CD in 7,000 of its stores. Interestingly enough, many Starbucks shops are located in Target. So Beyonce just found a loophole to make her album available in Target despite its decision to not support her.

And just hours after it was confirmed that Starbucks had signed on to sell the CD in its stores, Beyonce decided to show up to a Walmart near Boston and got her shopping on. The singer made sure she copped a copy of her album too. She also passed out $50 gift cards to shoppers and picked up some gifts for her adorable daughter Blue Ivy. If you recall, Walmart was one of the major retailers who quickly made a statement that they would not be following in Target’s footsteps and would have the album readily available in all of its stores. Oh the shade. Call us crazy, but we’re kind of surprised how quickly Beyonce is becoming the Queen of Shade.

In related news, Target is under fire by millions of their customers considering over 40 million of its shoppers’ credit/debit card information was stolen. Many shoppers took to Twitter to complain about unauthorized charges being placed on their accounts.

  1. I love that Bey is becoming a little shady boots. LOL. I don’t know about everyone else, but these stores trying to hate are the reason I now have three copies of the album. The hate only makes me support her more. In a way, I think this will only keep the fan base charged.

  2. This only makes me like her more. These stores are trying to control her and she’s fighting back. Every time someone tries to stop her another blessing comes. I will get my second copy at Starbucks!

  3. Wow. Beyonce has these stores salty. Smart move by Walmart, Best Buy and Starbucks. They know there’s money to be made by selling the CD.

  4. Target and Amazon are only giving her album more hype and making fans buy more copies because they think Beyonce is being targeted by Amazon and Target. This is working out in her favor.

  5. Shade Bey! Target lost my money and now I’m glad they did because they can’t even keep their system from getting hacked. I don’t shop on Amazon or online period so I can’t say I care too much.

  6. Getting Starbucks to sell the albums was a boss move and that’s the best shade of all. Beyonce is really growing on me now. LOL.

  7. Beyonce & Walmart got the last laugh because not only will Target not make a dime on Beyonce’s new album. Now they have the feds investigating them because millions of their customers credit/debit card info was stolen by hackers. Karma is a bish when you mess with the KANG! Lol!

  8. All of this is why I am buying the album again. The hate is out of control. And I hope other artists don’t see this and become afraid to go against the grain like Bey has.

  9. I’ve never purchased a Beyonce album in my life, but I did this time because I think I’m just fed up with all the hate this woman gets. From the mean things people say about her baby, how she works hard and gets trashed anyway by people who claim they don’t like her (but they are obsessed enough to write hateful comments about her all day on the blogs) to just the fact that she is doing something black women can only dream to do in music…I just figured I needed to support her this time. And I’m glad I did. I really like the album.

  10. I seriously doubt Amazon or Target will affect her sales that much because people will just go to wherever they have to go to buy the album. Walmart, Best Buy and Starbucks are all major stores. I get that they are scared iTunes will completely get rid of CD sales altogether, but that’s not Beyonce’s fault and they can’t stop the inevitable. iTunes and Beyonce will win in the end. The demand is there. CDs are a dying breed. Sorry.

  11. Amazon want to follow in Target footsteps ok In addition to buying the album on iTunes I will be buying two physical copies soon as I do my grocery shopping at Wal-Mart next week.

  12. SMH that’s what Target gets. I like amazon, but don’t mind joining the boycott if they want to be petty too. So they mad because she allowed her album to reach her fans first? Oh well *shrugs*
