Porsha and Kordell Stewart’s divorce is finally official, and the former couple has made it clear they are both looking forward to moving on with their lives. However, Porsha caught a lot of criticism when she told Wendy Williams that she planned to hang on to Kordell’s last name despite the split. During her last appearance on “The Wendy Williams Show” she said:
“I’m going to keep Stewart.
“It’s not his name, it’s my name. I was Porsha Williams and that was one part of my life before I got married. Marriage has taught me so much. I’m a whole other woman now. So I’m going to own that last name. It belongs to me.”
It looks like Porsha had a change of heart. According to Hip Hollywood, Kordell’s rep confirms that she agreed to return to her maiden name (Williams):
“[Porsha] previously stated she was keeping Kordell’s last name, which made Kordell very concerned about the damage it could cause. However, she reconsidered and decided to restore her maiden name, Williams. Kordell now believes he can restore the Stewart name and brand, for which it has been known through many generations, one of character, integrity, honesty and truthfulness.”
In related news, Porsha took to her Instagram account to let her fans know she’s happy the divorce is official. She posted the following photo and writes in the caption:

I’m glad she gave him his last name back. There’s no need to hold on to anything from that marriage except the lessons learned.

She needed to give him his last name back. He was a douche and there was no need to hold on to it. I just hope Porsha is smarter the next time she thinks about getting married.
Kordell probably made her give it up knowing him. LOL.
On to the next man with money I’m sure. These women are a trip. They don’t care about marrying for love and when it hits the fan they act like they were done so wrong. Whatever.
I really didn’t have a problem with her keeping Kordell’s name. But now she decides to give it back I don’t have a problem with that. She just needs to move on and stop talking about Kordell that chapter is closed.
She did the right thing. Can’t start fresh if you hold on to the past.
Doesn’t matter. She just really needs to grow up and learn how to take care of herself. And in the process, she’ll meet the right man for her.

Honestly I don’t get why anyone would want to keep the last name from a failed marriage if it’s not for professional reasons.
