Kendrick may sell more albums than Future, but Future is getting more radio spins and connecting a lot more with younger rap listeners.

Power 105.1 recently held their annual Powerhouse concert at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Future performed at the end of the show, and it seems that after Future’s set many had had enough of the concert after he left the stage. Apparently a lot of people left the concert before seeing the last performer, Kendrick Lamar perform. Allegedly this caused K. Dot to have to perform to a half empty arena. Maybe people left because Kendrick performed after midnight, and most have to go to work the next day. Apparently this same thing happened at a Chicago show also.
UB you already said what matters though. Kendrick sells more albums than Future’s hoe a-s. These kids who walked out the concert probably don’t even buy albums. F-ck them and their sh-tty taste in music.

Kendrick has his fan base and Future has his. Kendrick really shouldn’t even be there tbh. I saw that lineup and was confused as to who thought Kendrick would fit. Most of Future’s fans aren’t checking for Kendrick and vice versa.
Hmmm I think it’s a mixture of things. GKMC was everything and even young people loved it. HTPAB wasn’t loved by everybody and he lost a lot of people with it.
I swear this is a lost generation I can’t imagine wanting to listen to Future music over Kendrick I just don’t get it. Truth be told Future, Rich homie quan and Young thug all sound the same to me. I can barely understand what the hell they be saying.
I don’t think young people are here for K dot’s new album. They said he even had to start performing his old stuff because the people who did stay couldn’t vibe to it.

I was at Made in America and Future was not on the main stage but he brought in a HUGE crowd. I personally, did not want to see him but my man did, so I just just deal with it. J Cole didn’t come up for another two hours but I waited faithfully for him by the main stage. I would have done the same for Kendrick. While, I agree that Future is hot right now, I prefer more substance.
So sad. I hope Kendrick doesn’t let it get to him. A lot of us prefer his music over Future’s. That’s for sure.

He will have longevity and Future won’t.
When it comes to Future and Kenny, one has to pull publicity stunts to sell and still can’t go gold, while the other goes platinum and has a very diverse group of fans. Future will never have the latter.
Trap music is in right now. Kendrick makes timeless music so he has a solid fan base. I just don’t think they would be at that show.
