Veronica Vega Shades Amara La Negra

It looks as if Amara La Negra and Veronica Vega’s friendship is no more.

Veronica was one of the first people Amara confided in after producer Young Hollywood told her she should switch up  her look so she could make it in the music industry.

He in particular didn’t feel like it was a savvy business move for her to rock an afro so often.

This upset Amara, and she felt like the situation was yet another incident of colorism in the Latino community.

Although Veronica and their mutual friend Steph later confronted Hollywood about what he said to Amara, Veronica ended up going on a date with him once he told her that he would only apologize to Amara if she did.

Amara felt like Veronica was wrong to agree to go on a date with Hollywood, and confronted her about it.

It resulted in a shouting match, with Veronica later telling Amara that she needs to “get over” what Hollywood said.

After the episode aired, she posted the following video and caption on Instagram:

  1. But Amara doesn’t feel sorry for herself and clearly loves who she is, so what is this Veronica trollop trying to imply here?

  2. What? Amara does love herself. She’s just calling out the BS as she should. You have to be a silly person to equate not loving yourself with speaking up for yourself.

  3. “It is better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you are a fool than to open it and remove all doubt.”

  4. Here’s colorism at work. Since Amara is dark skinned, they see her as inferior and assume she doesn’t love herself. But the truth is she loves herself so much that she’s calling out their colorism. And it’s exhausting to do when even people who pretend to be your friends really don’t give a damn. But I have no doubt in my mind that Amara will get the last laugh. She has a million followers on IG now while we still ain’t checking for this Veronica person.

  5. Ugh girl shut the hell up. How great can her self esteem be if she’s willing to go out on a date with a color struck flop producer?

  6. her caption literally made not one lick of sense. I didn’t know calling out racism and colorism means you have low self esteem. That’s new to me.
