For the last few days, the headlines have been buzzing about actress Julianne Hough’s Halloween costume. Hough decided to dress up as “Orange is the New Black” character Crazy Eyes, but she outraged plenty of people because she decided to use blackface to complete the look. Although she apologized for the costume on her Twitter account days later and even claimed she meant no harm, a lot of her critics question how she had no idea that blackface is deemed offensive to African-Americans. However, R&B singer and reality star Tamar Braxton is claiming that she doesn’t see the big deal and she thinks those who were offended are “Team Too Much.” She says on VH1’s “The Big Morning Buzz”:
“She doesn’t look African-American to me. She looks like me with a tan! I mean, I am African-American, but I’m just saying—like if you had four tans on top of each other—you know what I’m saying, like the spray tans? That’s what she looks like!
“I think people are on team too much right now, cause it’s Halloween, and you should go dressed as you want to. Would you be offended if I wore a conehead and painted myself white? I mean, it’s not like you are trying to be racist or offensive or anything like that.
“You’re drunk by the time you figure out who people are. It’s not that serious. And what she looks like is definitely not offensive to me. I mean I wouldn’t think nothing of it.”

If you don’t know the history behind blackface, you’ll be foolish enough to think there’s nothing wrong with this. And honestly Tamar has always been an airhead to me who thinks shes too good to pick up a book and learn her history. She’s stupid.
