Mimi Faust’s troubles with men have pretty much been documented on VH1’s hit show “Love and Hip Hop Atlanta.” Although she’s no longer romantically involved with Stevie J., she became a popular target of criticism after she decided to stay with Stevie despite his affair with Joseline Hernandez. Mimi’s reasoning for trying to make their relationship work was for the sake of her daughter Eva and her desire to keep her family together, but in the end it was clear the criticism was beginning to get under her skin. Now that she is dating Nikko and officially off Stevie J.’s bus, the couple’s issues have also been a focus on season two of the show. Regardless, Mimi seems to think her mistakes with men better equip her to prevent her daughter from taking the same path. In a recent interview with VLAD TV, Mimi opens up once again about why she tried to make things work with Stevie J., and why’s she’s confident her daughter will make better choices about men than she has.

On why she stayed with Stevie originally:

“I would’ve been a fool not to. We have a three-year-old together. And at the time she was two when all this went down. So I would have been a complete fool not to try to make my family work. I at least had to try. I don’t know what woman wouldn’t try. I put in a good effort, it didn’t work, okay let’s keep it f*cking moving. And why am I stupid for that?”

Mimi also thinks her mistakes with men have prepared her to show her daughter another way. When asked if she was afraid her daughter Eva will make the same mistakes with men, Mimi says:

“Absolutely not, Eva is definitely very intelligent and smart. When Eva is old enough to understand and realize, I’ll let her know these are the mistakes that mommy made and we don’t do that. I want her to learn from my mistakes so I will not have her go down the same road, I’m going to teach her differently. And I know better because I’ve made the mistakes, so I know right from wrong. And I know how to teach her to do otherwise.

“So no I’m not afraid of that. That’s not a concern of mine.”

  1. I think people think Mimi is stupid because she dealt with Stevie for 15 years. It doesn’t take 15 years to see Stevie isn’t monogamous. More like two days.

  2. I have ZERO respect for Mimi she sounds so stupid once again. She needs to stop using her daughter as an excuse to why she holds on to Stevie because if her daughter is 3 and she been with him for over 15 years so for what’s the excuse for staying 12 years. All she can do is hope her daughter don’t be a fool like she is.

  3. Kids will usually do what they see their parents do versus what they say. Good luck with that Mimi.

  4. LOL. Sad to say, but that little girl doesn’t stand a chance until her parents get their acts together. Kids remember what they saw more so than what they HEARD. IJS.
