A1 and Ray J. link up

The episode begins with A1 linking up with Ray J. Ray J’s smoking as he’s stressing over not living with Princess and the kids. He tells A1 that he regrets how his conversation went with Princess, saying he didn’t handle it well.

Meanwhile, Lyrica’s talking with her mom Lyrica Garrett. Lyrica tells her mom that she and A1 haven’t had a conversation about their marriage since she moved out. A1 tells Ray J he doesn’t know where she moved to with their son Ocean. But with the pandemic going on, he wanted her and Ocean under the same roof. They are sleeping in different rooms in spite of everything.

Ray J tells A1 that this won’t be a typical reality show and A1 tells him that this is why he even agreed to it. Meanwhile, Lyrica’s happy she’s not getting unwanted feedback about her music from A1.

Their parents are coming to the talk despite A1’s reservations about it. If it was up to him, he’d tell their moms to stay away.

Eventually, Ray J gives A1 his blessing and he drives off.

A1 and Lyrica get right into it.

Later that night, the stage is set, which is an outdoor patio, and it’s time to film.

A1 hits the set first and he’s calm, not saying a word. He gets on his phone as a way to not think negatively about everything.

Lyrica comes out a short time later and she and A1 keep the small talk to a minimum. A1 tells Lyrica that it’s cool to have her around. But A1 knows that if they can’t reach an understanding, they’re going to get a divorce. That includes Lyrica keeping her own place.

Lyrica says she’s in a tough spot because so much stuff happened. She tells A1 that since moving away, she got focused. She moved because she felt A1 wasn’t trying to keep her around. A1 disagrees with her, saying he did care about her.

They begin to argue over this as Lyrica tells A1 she didn’t want to give her address to him because she doesn’t want him spying on him. She reveals A1 recorded calls between them in the past. A1 calls Lyrica sneaky as she apparently didn’t warn him that she was moving out.

Lyrica doesn’t want to deal with A1’s bad attitude.

Infidelities are discussed.

Things calm down, somewhat, as A1 admits to cheating, making mistakes, but saying Lyrica couldn’t get over it. He then tells her that if she can’t get over it, she could just be single.

He then says that the last time he cheated, it should be considered a hall pass because they were on a break.

Next, Lyrica reveals she doesn’t feel secure with A1. A1 asks if she’s placing 100% of the blame on him.

This leads to another argument of how A1 went to Las Vegas without calling Lyrica and A1 brings up Lyrica’s trip where she went radio silent.

Another argument ensues when A1 revealed he got advice from Ray J about listening to Lyrica. Lyrica says she didn’t talk to A1 because she warned him about him getting right. They argue, yet again, over the details of when Lyrica told him about the trip to Atlanta. In a response, Lyrica revealed someone contacted her about someone A1 met on a plane on the way to Vegas.

They turn the conversation to A1 giving Lyrica an expensive forgiveness gift in light of the cheating but Lyrica says that’s not enough. Lyrica says she would rather have A1 be a faithful husband, doing the little things in their marriage.

In fact, Lyrica says she can take the watch back.

A1 claims he’s a “Russell Wilson” type.

As Lyrica shivers in the cool night air, A1 gives her a warning about it being a cold world being single. Lyrica scoffs at this and says that A1 should know this point exactly. A1 then calls himself a “Russell” and says not every “Ciara” will find their “Russell.”

He then asks if the good outweighs the bad in their relationship. Lyrica says, “the bad outweighed the good.”

That angers A1. He gets angered even more when Lyrica says things got worse once they got married.

Next, A1 tells Lyrica he got the place they’re staying in as a petty response to Lyrica getting her own townhouse. But that doesn’t move Lyrica. Another argument ensues when Lyrica tells A1 he forced the issue in her getting pregnant. In fact, she put her career aside to get pregnant.

Lyrica points out that A1 is getting intoxicated and isn’t saying much of anything at this point.

Lyrica and A1’s moms come out and argue.

Later on, Lyrica brings up that their moms can’t even get along. Their parents have come over during the quarantine and there’s been tension between the four of them recently. A1 says it’s all on her. And it’s at this point, Lyrica leaves the set to go get their parents and get a break away from A1. A1 feels their parents shouldn’t be involved and he isn’t budging.

After a break, A1 and Lyrica agree to bring their moms to their talk. Pam Bentley comes out first with her son A1. Lyrica comes out by herself. Her mom isn’t in the mood to come out. Lyrica tells A1 and Pam that there’s major tension and all are at fault. A1 feels bringing their moms into their talk is silly, and he feels there’s been no progress between him and Lyrica.

Pam says it’s on both of them to get it right because of their son Ocean. She also says Lyrica has to let A1 be a man. In fact, Pam says she should be happy to stay in a mansion. Lyrica replies that a big house “and misery” don’t go together.

Eventually, Lyrica G walks out and the moms immediately get into it.
