‘Married to Medicine’ Recap: Simone Still Has Issues with Heavenly & Jackie + Toya Goes Off

Simone and Jackie still aren’t where they used to be.

The cast discusses how they feel about George Floyd’s death and the Black Lives Matter Movement protests that have been occurring all over the country. They have had to have some tough conversations with their children.

Damon has a “know your status” testing event. People are able to drive up and get tested for Covid. Scott, Heavenly, and Jackie are there to help.

When Heavenly asks Jackie why Simone didn’t come, Damon and Scott take it as their cue to leave the ladies alone to talk.

In a green screen interview, Jackie says that it hurt her that Simone didn’t have her back during the Buffie situation. But she thinks the final straw for Simone was Jackie’s closeness to Heavenly. Even after they seemed to make peace at the reunion, Simone hasn’t really been around much.

Michael is ready for adulthood.

Simone and Cecil’s youngest son Michael is getting ready to head to college. It’s been a weird experience due to the pandemic. Michael got a basketball scholarship to Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee. It’s a primarily white town. But Michael says he’ll be ready to deal with racism and educate people when he needs to.

The couples are trying to adjust.

Toya has been loving the Suburban life. But Covid has really changed things. It’s been really stressful for Eugene at the hospital. Toya isn’t happy they won’t be able to travel to Italy to celebrate their anniversary.

The couple misses going out on dates.

Contessa received her degree in Public Health. So she’s happy to be at home with Scott and the kids. But it’s been challenging with Covid. They really need help with their children but they can’t get any because everyone has to social distance.

Luckily, Scott’s niece came to help and get the kids to calm down and get into yoga.

Curtis gives his thoughts on Simone and Jackie’s fallout.

Jackie tells Curtis it’s been weird to not be so close to Simone anymore. Curtis feels both women are being stubborn and someone is going to have to make the first move for them to get back on the right track.

Heavenly and a chef and event planners are trying to get everything right for Damon’s 50th birthday celebration.

Anila is introduced.

Toya brings her friend Anila and her doctor husband Kiran along as they all head to Heavenly and Damon’s house for the birthday event. They all ride together with Simone and Cecil.

Simone wants to leave the past in the past and support Damon even though she’s not cool with Heavenly.

Jackie and Contessa ride together. They discuss her fallout with Simone. Jackie misses Simone and would like to know where they went wrong.

Contessa says that some people don’t like to share friends. But Jackie thinks this is an immature way to be.

Meanwhile, Simone tells Toya she was never angry with Jackie. She was just hurt and disappointed. Toya thinks Heavenly is the problem. And Heavenly is willing to fix things if she’s really the cause of Jackie and Simone’s issues.

Toya doesn’t hold back.

When Simone and Cecil arrive to Damon’s event, it’s awkward between Simone and Jackie. Jackie does attempt to talk to Simone about what’s going on at the hospital she works at, but it’s a struggle.

The husbands discuss police brutality. Damon says a gun was pointed at him twice. Cecil opens up about police hemming him up because they said he resembled someone they were looking for.

Heavenly asks Simone why she hasn’t heard from her when they hugged it out at the reunion. Toya says it was all fake and Heavenly really didn’t make an attempt to make things right with Simone since.

The episode ends on a cliffhanger.
