Charmaine’s final season was full of drama.

Black Ink Crew Chicago” alum Charmaine had a tough recent season on the show. Her father was battling cancer. She was still grieving the death of her mother. Plus, she was pregnant with her second child. While dealing with all of these personal issues, it became difficult for her to focus on 2nd City Ink, her tattoo shop. Interestingly enough, Charmaine had already brought in Miss Kitty to help her manage the business. However, Charmaine wasn’t feeling it when Kitty suggested that she could handle the hirings for future tattoo artists. So Charmaine wanted Kitty to stand down. This led to a huge blowup. And on the show, Charmaine fired Kitty.

Charmaine would later take to social media to tell her followers that the drama was manufactured. She also said that Kitty never actually worked in the shop or helped out with the business. This was also said about Draya, a tattoo artist who complained about Charmaine’s way of running the shop. On the show, Draya quit 2nd City Ink due to her frustrations with Charmaine.

Charmaine’s husband Neek backed up Charmaine’s claims. He said neither Kitty nor Draya really worked at 2nd City Ink. And Charmaine was going through a lot, so it was insensitive for the shop drama to become a focal point and not Charmaine losing her father.

In the end, Charmaine decided that it was time for her to leave the show. She only filmed a couple of scenes for the second half of the current season.

Well, Charmaine took to social media to give an update since her departure from “Black Ink Crew Chicago.”

  1. ???? She started most of her own drama…. I don’t watch the show anymore and haven’t for awhile but she was always in the middle or the cause of a lot of the drama surrounding her. Her husband is Corny and Enables her. I was never a fan of hers….

    1. Agreed. She was screwing Don, always had her behind in the air and even accused Lily of racism, which was pure BS. They used that whole nonsense for a plotline. I like Charmaine (for the show), but at this point she serves no purpose and her leaving was for the best.

  2. These reality shows are only supposed to be temporary hustles until you can have something much better. I’m happy Charmaine could afford to leave. It’s sad that these people have to be messy in order for fans to be entertained. Then those same fans hate them for just doing their jobs. Reality television isn’t worth it anymore.

  3. I never really liked Charmaine. I felt that she was an immature attention whore. Coming to work with her boobs out, as* out, messing with co-workers, etc.
Neek gets on my nerves too. Not knowing anything, he simply inserts himself trying to speak for Charmaine. I kinda get it but this sh-t was waaay before him.
I’m happy they’re doing well. Those kids grew her up.
