Fanny doesn’t understand why anyone would be offended by her performing in support of #AllLivesMatter since she has biracial relatives.
That Grape Juice writes:
Fantasia has found herself on the receiving end of a firestorm after it was announced that she’d be headlining an ‘All Lives Matter’ concert.
Initially set to be staged in her hometown of Charlotte yesterday, the gig has been postponed until next week for reasons unknown.
But the furore surrounding her involvement remains a very present problem.
Particularly in the current climate, with the advent of the ‘Black Lives Matter’ initiative; which itself was born out the continued injustices against Black people in the US and across the world.
Feeling the heat, Fantasia took to Facebook to defend herself.
In the video, Fantasia says:
“Two thousand years ago Jesus ended the debate on which lives matter. He died for all of us. All of us. Martin Luther King stood for love and unity for all people. United we stand, divided we fall. Let’s all stand together…together. Black lives matter, yes they do. All lives matter.
“Like he said, our grandson is biracial. My nieces and my nephews biracial. Do their lives not matter?
“We just got off a tour…me and Anthony Hamilton. And that crowd was black, white, young, old…people who bought who supported and bought tickets. And while we was on that stage, we appreciated that. We ain’t have no problem with that. But now we put out one little post, one little post…and that’s my problem with people. They miss the whole message and they’re just looking for something to like, Oh! I found something. Let’s start some negativity.’ It’s our own people bashing. But guess what? If God be for me, it’s more than the world against me.”
