The backlash and ratings drop forced Bravo to put “Real Housewives of Atlanta” on pause.
“Real Housewives of Atlanta” fans had a lot of complaints about the most recent season. Although Drew Sidora and Ralph Pittman’s marital issues were a hot topic, many felt like the season was lackluster outside of the former couple ending their marriage. Some were confused by Marlo Hampton‘s feud with Kandi Burruss. Others questioned the authenticity of Sheree Whitfield‘s “romance” with Martell Holt. Kandi herself thought the relationship was likely just for a storyline. Interestingly enough, Melody Shari alleged Martell said such in court documents. He denied this. Whether fake or not, Martell ended up clashing with Kenya Moore while filming a scene.
Fans also were critical of Sanya Richards-Ross. They had a similar perspective as Kandi. To them, Sanya was far from neutral. And she would often side with Sheree and Marlo when it came to disagreements within the group. When Kandi confronted Sanya about this, Sanya said she didn’t feel like she wasn’t neutral. During an interview, Sanya responded to backlash from fans. And she said she does spend more time with Sheree and Marlo. But she didn’t understand why that would be negative to so many in the fan base.
Ratings for RHOA struggled last season. So it wasn’t surprising when it was confirmed the show would experience somewhat of a hiatus due to some casting changes being made. It was rumored the show could see a shakeup similar to “Real Housewives of New York.” RHONY saw the departure of multiple OGs.
Drew Sidora and Kenya Moore are returning?
Other reports claimed producers would likely keep half of the cast and bring in new faces or familiar favorites from past seasons. Since then, Porsha Guobadia has confirmed her return for Season 16. Kandi has confirmed she decided to take some time off although she was offered a contract. However, fans haven’t heard about the status of Drew, Sanya, Marlo, Sheree, or Kenya.
Carlos King spilled some casting tea when he appeared on “Two Ts in a Pod.”
He said, “I strongly believe 99.9 percent that Kenya Moore is coming back. And I believe Drew Sidora is coming back.”
When Sheree was brought up, Carlos seemingly said he heard Sheree was returning. However, her good friend Kim Zolciak Biermann is not in talks to come back at all.
Phaedra Parks also didn’t rule out her possible return to RHOA in a recent interview now that Kandi is out. Plus, her run on “Married to Medicine” was labeled as a flop by some.

I’m just find it interesting that Marlo is the only one I’m not seeing or hearing anything about. Was she fired? Demoted?
Drew was the only one who actually had a storyline last season. Sheree brings nothing but fake relationships. I don’t think she needs to come back.
The people doing the casting need to be fired! They suck! Same tired cast with the same exact storyline every d-mn season! Tired of Kenya and Drew
I don’t think this is going to save the show. Porsha and Phaedra are too fake and pretentious to be entertaining anymore. Drew’s life requires filming Ralph to some capacity, so eww. I agree with More. It’s time for new and younger talent.
They could replace all of them. They all have fake successful business deals, fake relationships, fake friendships, just generally fake lifestyles.
