Marlo Hampton thinks Kandi Burruss receives favoritism.
“Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Marlo Hampton has made it clear that she is gunning for Kandi Burruss. In fact, she explained why during an interview with Carlos King. Marlo said that she believes Kandi has been “coasting” on the show for years now. But with Kandi being the highest paid, Marlo felt it was her job to make Kandi “work for her check.” Interestingly enough, Kandi was one of the biggest advocates when it came to Marlo finally securing a peach. However, Marlo told Carlos that didn’t mean she owed Kandi any type of loyalty. So she planned to keep pressure on her while they film the show.
Well, Marlo is doing just that. In fact, she had a lot to say about Kandi during the recent episode. It all kicked off after Drew Sidora asked Kandi about the incident that took place at Blaze Steak & Seafood. As we reported, Kandi’s cousin Melvin Jones was shot at the establishment. He also happens to be the kitchen manager. In an earlier episode, a producer tried to get Kandi and Todd Tucker to talk about the situation on camera. However, the couple said they couldn’t at the time because of legal reasons. Later in a green screen interview, Kandi said that an employee came to Blaze drunk one day. And after they got into an argument with Melvin outside, they shot him.
When Drew asked Kandi about the situation, she used the word “incident” instead of shooting. This bothered Marlo. She then emphasized that a shooting happened. And she threatened to stop filming the scene because she feels like Kandi receives special treatment from producers. Kandi then accused Marlo of not wanting to talk about the incident involving her cutting someone else during an altercation.
Marlo Hampton said Kandi Burruss doesn’t have to talk about the bad things that happen to her.
Before the episode ended, Marlo and Drew had a heated conversation. Marlo screamed at Drew about her nephew being killed years ago. This was very confusing to Drew. And in a green screen interview, Marlo said her nephew was shot and killed by his roommate in his home. This nephew used to work at Old Lady Gang.
Marlo said Kandi wasn’t very empathetic while she was grieving. So Kandi not wanting to talk about the shooting at that point triggered her.
Well, Marlo had more to say after the episode aired.
She said, “Y’all every single person was scared to bring it up. And Drew, I give her props. She was the only one that had the courage to bring it up. But when she brought it up, Drew said…y’all could really tell if you look at the incident that happened…girl, this was on the news. There was a shooting at Kandi’s restaurant, Blaze was on the news. But poor Drew was so scared.”
Marlo continued, “Drew was the only one with enough courage to say and I mean when I tell y’all Kenya, everybody looked at the girl like if you don’t be quiet. This is Queen Kandi. We don’t talk about anything negative that happens to her.”
Marlo Hampton feels Kandi Burruss should have supported her more when her nephew was killed.
She wanted to be acknowledged by Kandi, “So that triggered me y’all, it really did. It took me back to where my nephew who used to work for Kandi, who used to work for Kandi at Old Lady Gang, he got shot and killed. I called Kandi, reached out to Kandi, told her about it. And to me, I didn’t the reaction I wanted from her. She didn’t acknowledge it. Then as you see I went to her home a day or two later and she acted as if I never even texted her about it. So to me, it’s all about the acknowledgment.”
Marlo said she needed more from a friend, “I get incident sounds better than shooting. But don’t you think that defending myself sounds better than me stabbing somebody? Or cutting somebody? I’m confused. But this friend now, this is my friend who tried to get me a TV show, this is my friend who referred me to an agent, this is my friend. So If I call you and tell you that my blood nephew, my sister’s firstborn was shot and murdered that used to work for you, he didn’t work for you 10 years ago.
She continued, “He just worked for you. His death has been two years now. But he was still working for you less than **** 5 or 6 months ago. And you’re not gonna say, ‘Girl, I’ma send flowers, I’m sorry to hear that, sis. Let me send a platter from Old Lady Gang. Let me reach out to your sister.'”

Now I have my complaints about Kandi but this is so ridiculous. Kandi has never shied away from talking about anything even to her own detriment. And she’s definitely shared a lot more about her life than Marlo has. The one time Kandi said she can’t discuss something because of legal reasons, Marlo is really trying to push this narrative? Marlo really is a miserable person. I could never be friends with someone like her. The sense of entitlement is absurd.

I think Marlo is right in this regard. Kandi could have shown more empathy. Especially the young man worked for her. That is terrible and Kandy needs to take accountability for what happened. She blew I off like this happens a lot on Atlanta.

Marlo needs intense therapy how in the world do you equate that with you nephew being shot by his roommate only someone psychotic can put those two together. The show has come to its demise due in part to low level individuals invading the platform space. Marlo, Martell, Sheree, Sanya and Courtney, none of these imbeciles have the ability to provide meaningful storylines or dialogues. Marlo’s defense mechanism is to act hysterical when she is unable to throw shade, she offers nothing to the show. Let’s see how long she will have her nephews once she is off the show, Bye Wig!
So we now learn that Kandi not only advocated for YOU to have a job but she was also helping you out by hiring your family members and you making demands? I know good gd well she sent her condolences to your family. Ain’t no way you can convince me she didn’t. So basically your complaint is you didn’t get the level of attention you think you should.
